The sights

Gili Nanggu, Sekotong & the South-West Gilis

Gili Nanggu

A small island with a white-sand beach, shady trees and clear water over the reef just offshore — the most popular stop on secret-Gili tours.

ℹ️ Small island entry fee. Boats from Tawun take around 20–30 minutes.

Gili Sudak and Gili Kedis

Gili Sudak has simple warungs serving grilled fish; Gili Kedis is a tiny sandy islet with a few trees, a favourite photo stop.

ℹ️ Small fees per island. Usually visited on the same trip as Gili Nanggu.

Snorkelling the coral gardens, Sekotong & the South-West Gilis

Snorkelling the coral gardens

Shallow reefs around the islands have colourful hard and soft corals and plenty of reef fish; visibility is often excellent.

ℹ️ Gear included on most tours. Do not stand on coral.

Gili Gede, Sekotong & the South-West Gilis

Gili Gede

The largest island off Sekotong, with fishing villages, mangroves and a handful of small resorts. Ideal for a slow stay.

ℹ️ Boats from Tembowong or Pelangan; fast boats from Bali on some routes.

Sekotong harbours at sunrise, Sekotong & the South-West Gilis

Sekotong harbours at sunrise

The calm bays of the mainland, with outrigger boats and the hills behind, are beautiful early in the morning.

ℹ️ Free. Best at dawn.

Pelangan and the western coast, Sekotong & the South-West Gilis

Pelangan and the western coast

The road west from Sekotong passes quiet bays and fishing villages on the way to the far end of the peninsula.

ℹ️ Narrow, sometimes rough road; drive in daylight.
