The Gili Islands — Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air: three car-free coral islands off Lombok’s north-west coast, with turtles on every reef.

Getting to the Gili Islands

From mainland Lombok, the Gilis are a short boat ride from Bangsal or Teluk Nare. From Bali, fast boats sail direct.

Drive to Bangsal harbour near Pemenang (about 30–45 minutes from Senggigi, 1.5–2 hours from the airport). From there, public boats leave when full and speedboats run on demand. Some transfer companies use Teluk Nare or Teluk Kodek, just south of Bangsal. From Bali, fast boats leave Padang Bai, Serangan and other harbours.
